Just an FYI that it's true! We used to see Rick Schroeder at stake activities; his wife was Primary Pres. for Pacific Palisades when we lived in Santa Monica five years ago. Super nice family. It's always nice to see increase, as opposed to decrease.

If I'm not mistaken (which means, unless there are two Amy Adams in this world of about the same age, redheads, and actors, who grew up in LDS military homes), Amy might have gone inactive, but her brother Ryan (also redhead, served a Spanish-speaking mission, is now an Air Force pilot) was very active. He was my roomate at the Y. Great guy. I only mention that because in some interviews she makes it sound as if the whole family left the Church.

It is a strange trend that I have noticed as well. I don't know if has been spurred by the Mormon issue and Romney campaign or what. I first recall seeing it in interviews w/ Brandon Flowers of the Killers and that was a few years before Romney came on the scene. Plus, Flowers professes he is a faithful Mormon, just with his lapses. Since then it seems like every third new rising star is a former Mormon (slight exaggeration).

My favorite Roseanne Barr quote (googling can't find it but I swear reading it) was that the happiest people she has ever known were Mormons and retarded people.

She would probably would use more PC language now, to benefit people w/ mental challenges (not Mormons)but I'll take that in the best light possible. She apparently did not enjoy her time growing up in Utah. Fortunately, she has been freed to live elsewhere and is now the pleasant person we all know her to be.
